A very personal letter to my blog

The Story
A few months ago, I detailed how I told my wife that I wanted to leave the template life. I wrote about our discussion regarding some of our life plans but mostly focused on why I started the blog.

I left something big out. :D

At the same time that I began production work on Heroic Destiny, my wife and I began “production work” on another big project. We got “confirmation” that the project was in affect a few weeks back but were waiting for the first 3 months to pass before announcing what we were working on.

So here is the big reveal…

WE’RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!!!

I know you can't tell what is what, but I'm still putting up this picture!

I seriously just got really emotional at typing that last line. We’re both so very happy and excited. My wife just called and said that the she heard the heartbeat at the doctor’s office for the first time today. (Ah! Just got really emotional again!!!!)

We’ve known that we wanted more children for a long time but wanted to make sure that we felt comfortable before going for number 3 especially since our first two were only 17 months apart. The first trimester has been very rough on my wife who has had 24/7 morning sickness. Of course, I would make the gigantic lifestyle change to start blogging just before embarking on this other journey. All of you have made this journey amazing thus far and I have been dying to share this (we just wanted to make sure we got to the heartbeat milestone first).

Currently our due date is Valentine’s Day (easy to remember) and we are both VERY VERY VERY excited. Our other daughters Ella and Eden have started to understand that there is a baby in mommy’s belly, but they keep wanting “him” to come out and play. And yes, I’m really hoping for a boy (there’s so much more pink in our house than I ever thought even EXISTED in the world!) Obviously, I know that whether baby is more inclined to receive pink or blue, that I will be ecstatic.

Looks like Goal #3 has another notch after it!

Thank you for being awesome!

Congrats David. That’s awesome. My best friend from college has her second on the way and her daughter is in the same mode as your daughters so it’s interesting to hear. I guess I’ll have alot of good mentors to look to when I have my first kid :)

    Nice David,

mega-congrats. I’m still far away of experiencing that, but it’s awesome to see others enjoy that process.

Thank you! I can’t wait for you guys to come over for dinner and we can talk about babies!!!

  • http://drewrieder.com Drew Rieder

David, that’s the best news, bro! To use basketball terms, you’re going from man-to-man to ZONE defense now. It will be a great adventure as I can attest being the proud papa of three little amigos. Thanks for sharing that w/ us! You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers. Until soon….drew :-)

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

Now THAT is a sports reference I can understand!

I hear from 1 to 2 is the hardest, but from 2 to 3 is much easier. I also hear that 3+ is easier since you are already numb to everything. LOL

Congrats David!!! I’m very far off from having my own kids, but I’m very happy for you! Congrats again man!

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

Yaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you guys. Can’t wait to meet the littlest Crandall this Winter on your blog. :)

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

That sounds like it should be a children’s book title: The Littlest Crandall. Love it!!!

Hmm…need to file that away and use it for the little one’s debut post!

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

  • Becky

Congrats of course! You know we love y’all!!!

  • http://www.ricardobueno.com Ricardo Bueno

David: Congratulations!! Totally happy for you, that’s GREAT news! And believe me, you totally have the support of the community that you’ve developed here :-)

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

Thank you! I’ve been so impressed at how amazing the online community is. I think after years of seeing people vomit the worst stuff imaginable in anonymous forums, it’s still a surprise to see how kind and encouraging people are who are taking the time to represent themselves. I love the community that I am developing and could not wait to share this news.

      You rock!

  • Jason Booker

Just saw this, friend. So exciting! Congratulations to you and K. both. We hope someday to have multiple kiddos like you guys, but honestly, one is enough of a challenge for now… maybe it gets easier as you go? Hope so! We’ll pray that first trimester passes quickly, I know the second one is more fun. Here’s a blessing for you guys: Psalm 127:3-5

  • http://ericpratum.com Eric Pratum

Congratulations! All the best to you and your family.

    • http://www.biggirlbranding.com Cori Padgett

Dang..this one got lost in my inbox! Belated Congrats David,
to you and your wife.. I’ve been caught up with baby fever
lately as well and have been considering trying for another.

Mine are 4 years apart now and I’m 29… clock is ticking! LOL

Anyway.. good luck to you both, I’ll be praying for a boy..
and in the meantime you can send some of your girl mojo our
way because I want one too! How about if I have a boy, and you
another girl, we trade? ;) (Totally kidding, sheesh.)

Congrats hun, and tell your wife too!

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

Thank you so much! I had to fight off the baby fever with my wife for a while before we were comfortable with the timing.

Too bad you do not live closer, I’d let you babysit until you had your fill of girls. LOL

    • http://www.biggirlbranding.com Cori Padgett

LOL..I know.. both my boys were a bit of an oopsie..
so my next I’d actually like to plan!

I hear boys are way easier, and I believe it.. I have
nieces, and they are drama queens! But still…I’m
      over-run by BOYS… I need defense! ;)

That’d be awesome if you lived closer.. we could totally
trade for a weekend, lol and then all will become
crystal clear! DA DUM! We’d probably both end up praying
to stick with what we’ve got. Maybe. Ugg..now I’m
thinking babies again, darn it! lol

  • Kerrie

    David,
I am very very excited and happy for both of you. Of course, I have known you for a very long time and now am so happy to know and love your 3 beautiful girls, Kaylane, Ella and Eden. I can’t wait to meet the baby and I thank you for sharing the Crandall family with me! :-)
It’s good to have you back in my life as a good friend.
You are a TERRIFIC dad and your kiddos are very blessed!
