Neuroscience, burnout, & turf war according to Sinclair

Sinclair

I began emailing back and forth with Sinclair of SelfActivator.com after letting her know that she had been mentioned during my interview with Abby Kerr. Aside from the fact that interviewing someone with a background in neuroscience just sounds cool, she was someone that was enjoyable to chat back and forth with. An interview seemed like the logical next step. (Well, at least that’s how my brain works now.)

Sinclair has a coaching kit coming out very soon called Burnout to Bliss and I hoped by interviewing her that we could get a bit of a sneak peek at her content. My hopes were not in vain. Get ready to press your tongue against the roof of your mouth and start looking up. (Ya, that gets explained.)

Be forewarned that this interview was super enjoyable. In addition to talking about Sinclair’s background in neuro and rocket science and her upcoming kit, we also discussed the secret turf war that is going on in Portland, OR right now. In fact, we’re pretty sure that the dropped call around the 32 minute marker was due to some angry hippies trying to reclaim their territory. Shhh…it’s a secret though.

Sinclair is smart, funny, and was a real joy to interview. I can’t wait for you to listen for yourselves!

That does it — I’m moving to Portland. Btw, I’m an old hippie who LOVES bloggers.

Cool interview. I love the scientific aspects of how the mind/brain works. Looking forward to checking out selfactivator.com.

LaVonne – I want to move to Portland, too! Spent three months there last year and fell in love. Of course I was there during May and June when the weather was divine so dealing with the rainy season might be harder than I think . . .

Portland is gorgeous! I lived there for a while and love visiting when I get a chance. Especially now as it is becoming the blogger destination of choice. Ha!

Definitely check out Sinclair on her site. Fantastic!

    Ooh, I’m a coach, not a consultant.

This was a fantastic interview. Well done Sinclair, as always, for being wonderful. And thank you David, for asking incredibly smart questions.

There are some things where I think I am better suited as a consultant, but I find that I am drawn towards those things where I can be a coach more. I love helping people to achieve their goals and dreams; consulting just doesn’t have as high of a frequency of that as coaching.

And thank you for the compliment regarding smart questions! Compliments like that will always get you a full page of gold stars in my book!!!!

After this interview am reassured and able to exhale.

I know! I’ve found a bunch of cool people through the #MSMS hashtag. That Naomi knows how to make something successful, doesn’t she?!

Loved the podcast w/ Sinclair. Seems like a really cool person. I’ve got my eyes on the ceiling and my tongue stuck to the top of the roof of my mouth. I’m at peace. Great stuff. I really enjoyed it. I especially liked the music intro and at the end, too. Take care, man. Keep up the great work….drew :-)

Well, being the big fan of techno that I am, I couldn’t NOT use something electronica based for my music. LOL

So glad you liked the podcast with Sinclair. Also super glad to see you back online, friend. :D

I love this podcast. It’s fun, and the topics discussed were scientifically grounded, without being too boring. Almost Malcolm Gladwell-sy, but warmer. And yes, I’m touching the roof of my mouth with my tongue now. And yes, I’ve always wondered about the Portland blogging phenomenon. Glad that someone finally discussed that!

Sinclair has a great way of communicating scientific principles and theories while keeping it interesting and fun. The interview was a blast to do (as you might be able to tell by our digression into hippies and turf wars).

And let me just tell you, I’ve used the tongue pressing thing a few times already in the past few days. Totally dig it. AND it makes me laugh because I’m sure people would wonder what on earth I’m doing if they knew. LOL

Finally got around to listening to this interview! Has been on my to do list since the road trip. Just got back from Portland. I wonder who will win the turf war. It’s important. It will change the world forever. David, do you ever plan to go back to Portland?!

    • http://www.HeroicDestiny.com David Crandall

I plan to VISIT Portland, but not to move back. No family there…which makes it hard to choose as a long term destination.

PS – I think the hippies could win due to ingenuity, but they lack the technology to successfully win a short term war. LOL
