Newspaper Hat

Classic reading material as apparel. Why not, right? (source: katerha)

Each week, I read tons of blog posts and have usually read at least some of one book, if not all of multiple books. Part of it might be research or study as I pursue a more personally designed lifestyle. Some may be just random things I read.

This is where I share what has caught my attention.

Books

I received two books in the mail this week and am very excited to start reading them. I am impressed with both authors just from what I normally read by them. However, when I received my books and Tweeted about it (My Twitter) this week, BOTH authors made a point of telling me thank you for having purchased this book! That really impresses me a lot and just adds to the already great impression I have of them.

ProBlogger – Secrets to blogging your way to a six-figure income

This book is about blogging AND making money. Why would I NOT read it? :)  I’ll give a full review once I have completed it; only about a third of the way through at this point. You should follow Darren on Twitter.

Career Renegade

I got this book the day after the ProBlogger book so I have yet to start reading it. However, I have been pleased with everything that I’ve read on the author’s blog JonathanFields.com and enjoy his Twitter feed too.

Blogs

Here’s a few of the over 300 posts that I read this week.

NathanHangen.com

Are You Not Entertained?

I thought this was a good post to get the feel for Nathan’s site. The post was actually a response to an unsubscribe email he received saying that his site was “too macho”. Personally, if that had been something I received, I would print that email out and look at it every day as a daily affirmation! I highly recommend spending some time going through his archives though; I spent about 4 hours reading the other day and really enjoyed what I found!

DailyBlogTips.com

Interview: 12 Top Online Entrepreneurs Share How Hard They Work

Great Q&A with 12 very motivated and successful people. Lots of interesting stuff here, I thought.

Before, During and After: How to Know What to Focus on When Running an Online Business

Always a sharp girl, Laura really highlights the three phases of customer service: before, during, and after the sale. So simple, but so overlooked!

The Spousership

Encouraging post to read about a very important part of a married person’s decision making process: their spouse. Author Erik Proulx tells a very honoring story about his wife and the important part she played in a project that he undertook. Great reminder to honor the people that support us. Plus, there’s a sound-bite from a very popular movie on this post (hint: “Mawwiage”)

Manna

Great post by a very spiritual woman about trusting being a hero to her family by trusting God through very difficult circumstances. In light of my posts on heroes this week, I couldn’t help but post this. Her posts are continually encouraging and great reads; check ‘em out!

Have a great rest of the weekend!
