Podcast Episode #2 – Interview with Eric Pratum

Last week’s podcast was received really well. Thank you for all the kind and encouraging words from new and established readers/listeners. I was very encouraged and pleased with how well everyone thought it went. Thank you!

Eric Pratum
Of all the people that I’ve established relationships with online, Eric is the one that I’ve known the longest. I found his website EricPratum.com when I first started learning about personal branding and online networking. Since then our relationship has developed to the point that we now communicate multiple times a week, if not multiple times a day. He’s someone that is enjoyable to talk to and knows his stuff.

In today’s podcast, Eric shares his story about how he ended up with his website and how social networking enabled him to get his job at Grizzard. (Pronounced like Gri-ZARD, it does not rhyme with gizzard…which I may or may not have thought at one point.) Also there are a lot of good pointers about using personal branding for your career. For those of you who think that personal branding is only for us crazy lifestyle designers or online marketers, think again. Eric presents some compelling reasons for people in ANY type of job to be mindful of their personal brand.

Plus, he uses the phrase “snake oil salesman” at one point. (You know you want to hear that!)

By the way, if you aren’t following him on Twitter already, you should do so: @EricPratum

Well done both of you and thanks for the shoutout Eric. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled on Eric’s tweet stream during his wedding -he promised me he would live stream his vows. ;)

    • http://ericpratum.com Eric Pratum

Thanks, Logan, and you’re welcome. Ha! I think we’d go beyond the death stare if I live streamed it. We’re both down for a slightly nerdy twist on it, so we’ll see if it comes out. I’ll let you know.

Hmm…I wonder how the fiance would feel about a Ustreamed wedding? ;)

I did continual updates on my Facebook and family blog when my last daughter was born almost 2 years ago. I’d probably do more Ustreaming now (not the ACTUAL birth though, so no worries. LOL) Ah…geeks and technology. Gotta love us!

Logan, thanks for stopping by and for the compliment.

I was a door to door vacuum salesman what do you think about those…LOL Oh crap can’t wait for the reaction.

Honestly worst and best gig I ever had. Its a long story.

We’ll have to wait for that Ustream wedding… I don’t know if my girl will let me go that far YET! when we get married LOL

I’ve considered writing out my past jobs here just so people can see the crazy extent of what I did before my current career. I think pizza delivery was my favorite crap job…though it was certainly not in line with any of my current goals. Ha!
